Max Mattei is a local resident of Massachusetts and a graduate of The Art Institute of Boston, with continued studies at Mass Art. A graphic
designer and photographer, Max describes himself as "An artist immersed in the visual arena". The fusion of Max's strong design background with his
keen appreciation and unique perception of the world around him is reflected in the diverse
body of work he has created. Tireless in the pursuit of his chosen subjects, he studies them over and over again, tracking the light and shadows,
observing the many nuances in play until just the right moment arrives when he can capture the images that will finally convey the story he is
trying to tell. His pictures are an invitation for the viewer to engage and remember what surrounds and sustains us each and every day if we only
take the time to really see.
Max has been featured in Cape Cod Life and Boston Magazine. His art hangs in many prominent institutions and businesses, such as Logan Airport and Granite Medical, as well as in the homes of private collectors. Max's work is currently on display at the Blue Heron Gallery in Wellfleet, The Artful Hand in Chatham and The Stuart Clifford Gallery in Provincetown. He has been a guest artist at G-19 in Rockport, Tree's Place in Orleans and Kent Newton Salon Gallery in Boston.
